Camp Fire Relief Efforts

The Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation and our 40 local business fundraising partners implemented relief efforts immediately after the impacts of the Camp Fire were known.

 We opened funds to collect donations from all over the country to help in short and long-term relief efforts. To date contributions have totaled over $13 million with more coming daily.

 

How We Are Helping

 

So far we have disbursed over $4.3 million in relief efforts. This has included:

  • $4 million to Butte Strong Fund

  • Direct assistance to Camp Fire victims purchasing gas cards, clothing and more

  • Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley for janitorial services, after school programs, clothing and second building

  • 3CORE for Business Assistance Fund

  • Butte Humane Society to assist with providing no-cost vet services to those affected by the Camp Fire

  • The Torres Shelter for direct assistance

  • Paradise Elementary School for projectors and school supplies

  • Achieve Charter School for school supplies

  • Caring Choices - lunch for volunteers

  • Pleasant Valley High School Music Boosters for funding of World Heritage Music Festival trip for students affected by the Camp Fire

  • Community Housing Improvement Program to assist with rebuilding the Paradise Community Village Apartments

  • North Valley Catholic Social Services for general assistance

  • Chico Community Scholarship Association to assist with scholarships for Paradise graduating seniors that have relocated to Chico

  • Chico Meals on Wheels to purchase a new van for meal transportation to the Magalia and Paradise areas

  • The Salvation Army of Oroville to assist in purchasing a Mobile Emergency Disaster Kitchen Trailer

  • Youth on the Ridge Community Foundation grant for the benefit of multiple youth related organizations in the Paradise/Ridge Communities

  • California CareForce to support a 3 day dental, vision and medical clinic for fire survivors and those in need on July 19-21, 2019

  • Odyssey Team for Paradise Strong - Paradise High School and Intermediate School Mosaics

  • Chico Art Center for Butte County Art on Wheels Camp Fire Project

  • Resilience Resources to cover food expense for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Training

  • Land Mark Missionary Baptist Church to provide funds to complete RV park at church property

  • The Lotus Center to fund one HeartMath Certified Trauma Recovery Workshop facilitated by Dr. Kathleen Riley

  • Town of Paradise for Public Private Partnership to fund Local Disaster Recovery Manager

  • Butte College Foundation for Promise Scholarship

  • Medspire Health for Mobile Medical Clinic

  • Resilience Resources to provide food for training event for clergy and spiritual care providers to Camp Fire survivors

  • Cordico Psychological Corp for Wellness App to assist BCSO Public Workers effected by the Camp Fire

  • Rotary Club of Oroville for Concow Camp Fire Relief BBQ

  • Butte County Fair to replace forklifts damaged during Emergency Evacuation Center

  • The Salvation Army of Chico for Camp Fire recovery programs and long term recovery assistance

  • Catalyst Domestic Violence Services for prevention and education program specific to Camp Fire pop-up cities and FEMA CF developments

  • Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley for Music Therapy Impact, Group Empowerment Drumming for Wellness Program

  • Oroville Hope Center for restoration project for building outbuildings in the burn scar area

  • The Salvation Army of Chico for scholarships to their Summer Day Camp for Camp Fire survivors

  • The Peg Taylor Center for funding towards additional social Work and Nursing

  • No Limit Generation for trusted child well-being training platform

  • Habitat for Humanity for septic and surveying costs for 6 Paradise homes and in-kind video production

  • Tiny Pine Foundation to fund construction of one tiny home for Camp Fire survivor

  • Paradise Stronger for their health, wellness, education and fitness center for residents

  • Sub-Fund direct disbursements

Long-Term Plan

 

The need in our community is great and we will have more needs long-term. Many organizations are stepping in and we need to be ready to help for years to come. Our community is facing a challenge together and we are planning to allocate our funds to those needs. These include:

  • Small Businesses

  • Housing

  • Shelters

  • Education

  • Local Nonprofits

  • Children

All administrative costs of the Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation are paid by Golden Valley Bank, meaning 100% of your contribution goes to helping Camp Fire victims. Your contribution is tax deductible.
