Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation & FHLBank San Francisco Donate $40,000 to the Rebuild Paradise Foundation & Oroville Rescue Mission
CHICO, Calif. – Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation (GVBCF) announced today that the Rebuild Paradise Foundation and Oroville Rescue Mission will each receive a total of $20,000 after the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco) matched the Foundation’s $10,000 donations the non-profits each received through the Bear/North Complex Fire Relief Fund.
“We are very happy the Federal Home Loan Bank recognized the importance of donating to these two great organizations and matched our contribution to assist with fire relief,” said Mark Francis, President and CEO of Golden Valley Bank.
The Rebuild Paradise Foundation will use the funds to provide immediate assistance and relief related to the Bear/ North Complex Fire. The Foundation’s mission is to support the long term rebuild efforts of Butte County’s disaster affected residents, businesses and workforce.
Oroville Rescue Mission will also use the funds to meet immediate needs of Bear/North Complex Fire survivors through gift card distributions for gas, food, essential clothing, shelter and more. The Oroville Rescue Mission is a religious non-profit organization which serves the homeless and disadvantaged in the Oroville area and its surrounding communities through operating a homeless shelter, providing meals and distributing food boxes to needy families in the community.
FHLBank San Francisco approved matching grant request by the Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation from funds earmarked to support victims of wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the communities its member financial institutions serve. “As California communities are experiencing another devastating wildfire season, the need for resources to meet the urgent needs of the people affected is enormous,” Marietta Núñez, Senior Vice President and Community Investment Officer at the FHLBank San Francisco. “We are pleased to be able to match the generous donations our members make to relief organizations that are on the ground immediately providing critical assistance to those who need it.”
