On May 9th, 2017 at our Board of Directors meeting, we presented a $1,000 check from the Bank’s Foundation Legacy Merit Scholarship Program. The GVBCF Legacy Merit Scholarship Program was established to allow an incoming college freshman who is the child or grandchild of a Founder or employee of the Bank to apply for a $1,000 scholarship for their continued education. Melisse Larrabee, GVB Founder & customer is the grandmother of Colby Pantaleoni, a senior at Gridley HS, who was awarded this scholarship in 2017. His GPA of 4.10, application, community involvement and letters of recommendation were very commendable. He plans to continue his education in Bioresource and Agricultural Engineering. We also awarded four seniors from Chico-area high schools merit scholarships of $1,000 each through the Chico Community Scholarship Association. We wish them all the best!
